Description
Under the direction of the Community Outreach Department Director & Assistant Director, the Housing Certification and Counseling Specialist will be responsible for the following: • Research, develop and maintain a database of affordable housing resources in Monmouth, Ocean & Mercer Counties; • Intake and assessment of client needs during telephone and or direct contact to our agency • Provide one on one counseling to clients to help them find housing that best meets their needs (such as pre-purchase, post purchase and rental); • Distribute applications, assist with their completion, if necessary; • Refer clients to appropriate community and/or social service agencies, based on their needs; • Coordinate the administration and client tracking (HCO) of the agency’s educational workshop programs; • Provide Section 8 Homeownership clients referred by housing authority partners with one on one counseling, and keep client tracking tool updated on a regular basis of all clients served; • Presents at various workshops and training sessions provided by the agency on the home buying process; • Process applications for affordable rentals and for-sale units for contractual partners, certify applicant eligibility, oversee applicant waiting list and conduct applicant lottery process, refer applicants to sellers/developers of affordable units, provide closing documents with deed restrictions to buyer attorneys and maintain owner files; • Monitoring occupancy, documents, and make referrals for Mount Laurel units under contract; • Other duties as assigned and necessary for the administrative functioning of the housing counseling department; Hours: • Part-time (hourly position); • 20-25 hours • 2-4 evenings a month; Salary Range: $10.00 to $15.00 per hour
Requirement
Qualifications: • Ability to speak and write English while responding to clients needs and sometimes in crisis; • Associates degree in Human Service or Business Field. • Strong Computer skills; • Excellent interpersonal skill/public speaking experience; • Certification as a Housing Counselor within 1 year of employment; • Bi-lingual skills a plus. • Real Estate experience a real plus. • Knowledge of Monmouth County geography and real estate. All employees are required to submit to drug, criminal, driving and personal reference checks as appropriate to their position.

Description
Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, sheet rock, etc. Salary range $11.00 to $14.00 per hour plus benefits, depending on skills.
Requirement
Must be willing to work on-call, after hours and weekends. Must be physically able to climb, lift, bend, shovel snow and work in weather extremes. Must have knowledge and ability to operate tools and equipment. Must possess good customer service skills. Must have dependable transportation. All applicants must pass drug testing, criminal screening and possess a good driving record.
